Isaiah 61:3
“He will bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes”
Our Mission
Our core mission is to equip individuals with knowledge about abuse, provide resources for help, offer encouragement from survivors, and inspire hope for the future — ultimately leading to healing through Christ.

Our Vision
Through resources, understanding, and encouragement, we seek to guide the hurting toward healing, safety, and transformation – creating survivors who thrive in Christ.
To accomplish this our aim is to, one day, provide resources for every major city in every state within the U.S. We plan to launch faith based support groups, connect survivors with compassionate mentors to help them navigate the healing process, and ultimately provide free counseling for those currently experiencing or recovering from abuse.
Meet Our Founder
Out of the Ashes began with a deep commitment to providing hope, healing, and guidance to those in need. As the founder, I am dedicated to building a community of support and empowerment. While I currently lead this effort, I welcome those who share this passion to join me in making a lasting impact.

Brooke Hamel
Founder/Mentor
As a survivor of both rape and domestic abuse, my heart is deeply committed to helping others overcome both their physical circumstances and emotional trauma. I have known the Lord for most of my life, and it is only through His grace that I am here today.
Shortly after leaving my abusive marriage, God placed a calling on my life—to help others like me. At first, I thought it was through a simple blog, but as He continued to reveal His plan, those small ideas blossomed into Out of the Ashes, a ministry dedicated to providing hope, healing, and guidance to survivors.
As God continues to heal me, I am passionate about walking alongside others on their own journeys. I am a certified mental health coach specializing in trauma and am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s in Psychology (Pre-Counseling and Therapy). In a few years, I will be a licensed counselor and plan to offer free counseling to those coming out of abuse.
Beyond this ministry, I wear many hats—I am a mother of two, a nanny, and a missionary under InFaith, which provides me with training and manages the nonprofit status and finances of Out of the Ashes. Right now, I oversee every aspect of this ministry, including research, web design, and content creation. I am trusting that God will continue to bring the right people alongside me to help expand this work and bring hope to those who need it most.

Established in 1817 and originally founded in 1709, InFaith has a long history of fostering faith-based initiatives. Originally known as The American Sunday School Union and later American Missionary Fellowship, their early work focused on establishing Sunday Schools. Today, InFaith supports and equips missionaries in launching and sustaining ministries such as church plants, prison outreach, youth camps, and specialized programs that meet critical needs.
